When constipation strikes, it’s pretty rough. It’s unpleasant, painful, and no fun at all. Just about all of us will suffer from constipation at some point or another in our lives. You might not be getting enough fiber and water. You might be getting too much fiber and not enough water. The goal is to get enough of both. Enough fiber to keep things moving, and enough water to make sure that it doesn’t get stuck in your gut.
Just about any juice or smoothie recipe would do to help rid you of constipation, but this is one I’ve found seems to work best. You will need:
- 1 fistful of organic spinach leaves, preferably baby
- 200 ml of yogurt
Place the ingredients in a blender, mix well, and drink immediately. Drink once in the morning and once at night. Follow with a big glass of water. Repeat daily if this is a recurring problem for you. The spinach provides a ton of fiber, the yogurt provides good cultures that your gut requires for proper health, and the water helps the fiber move through your colon.
